Texas Materials Institute is proud to announce that Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering Professor Guihua Yu, has recently been awarded the prestigious Brimacombe Medalist by The Mineral, Metals & Materials Society (TMS).
The Brimacombe Medalist Award recognizes the outstanding mid-career scientists with sustained excellence and achievement in business, technology, education, public policy or science related to materials science and engineering, and with a record of continuing service to the profession. Yu was cited for his pioneering contributions to the development of new multifunctional nanostructured materials for significant applications in advanced energy, sustainability, and environmental technologies, and dedicated services to materials community.
Dr. Yu has published over 200 articles in many prominent scientific journals and his work has garnered more than 37,000 citations with H index of 101. He is also a recent recipient of the 2021 O’Donnell Award in Engineering by The Academy of Medicine, Engineering & Science of Texas (TAMEST).
