Texas Materials Institute is thrilled to announce that U.S. News and World Report has ranked our Materials Science and Engineering program globally at No. 32, No. 13 among U.S. public institutions, and No. 1 in Texas.
These rankings are a great way for us to see where we stand globally and they help students better compare institutions.
According to U.S. News, rankings are based on 12 indicators that measure academic research performance and global and regional reputations. They also focus specifically on each schools’ academic research and reputation overall and not their separate undergraduate or graduate programs. To see more about the methodology used, please see the link here.
The overall rankings include 1,250 universities in 74 countries. In addition to the MS&E ranking, UT Cockrell School of Engineering came in at No. 34 with UT Austin as a whole at No. 32.
