PhD Candidate Xiaobin Xu Wins MRS Graduate Student Silver Award

Mr. Xiaobin Xu, a PhD candidate in the Materials Science & Engineering Program, studying under the supervision of Dr. Donglei Fan, recently won the Materials Research Society (MRS) Graduate Student Silver Award for his work on “Ultrasensitive Rotary Nanomotors for Controlled Biochemical Release and Detection with Raman Spectroscopy,” which was presented at the 2014 MRS Spring Meeting & Exhibit in San Francisco, California.

The MRS website states that “MRS Graduate Student Awards are intended to honor and encourage graduate students whose academic achievements and current materials science research display a high level of excellence and distinction. MRS seeks to recognize students of exceptional ability who show promise for significant future achievement in materials research and education.”
