Postulates of quantum mechanics, the bound states of the finite square well, the harmonic oscillator, operator-eigenvalue formulism and selected examples, the hydrogen atom, angular momentum, rigid rotor, andspin. May include simple scattering theory.
Prerequisite: The following coursework with a grade of at least C- in each: Physics 336K, 353L, and 355.
