The propagation of light in photonic crystals, plasmonic structures, and quantum dots; modified light-matter interaction at nanoscales, including emission, absorption, and scattering; evanescent tunneling; temporal coupled-mode theory.
Course number may be repeated for credit when the topics vary.
Additional prerequisite: Electrical Engineering 325 and 334K, or their equivalents.
