Students in the Nano Portfolio Program have access to a wide range of opportunities through our various programs. As part of the TMI Seminar Series, Nano Portfolio students have the opportunity to invite and host visiting speakers, allowing them unparalleled access to some of the top scientists working in nanoscience today. The Lunch with the Speaker Program gives students a chance to meet and interact in a small group setting with our diverse array of guest speakers that are invited through the Nano Portfolio, Materials Science & Engineering, Energy Frontier Research Center, and NASCENT programs. The Travel Award grants up to $1,000 of support for Nano Portfolio students to attend national conferences and present their nano-related research. The Program also offers students a chance to receive financial support to attend ESONN, the European School on Nanosciences & Nanotechnologies. Nano Night, our annual poster session, provides a forum for students to present their nanoscience or nanotechnology research to faculty and industry representatives for the chance to win cash prizes. And, completion of the Nano Portfolio Program is reflected on the student’s transcript as a certification in nanoscience and nanotechnology.
